SkyDev, a real estate developer with active developments in both Collingwood and Meaford, has planted more than 250 new trees in the area, as part of a national project by Skyline Group of Companies (of which SkyDev is a part) that has seen over 665 trees planted in celebration of National Forest Week and National Tree Day 2021.
This past Thursday, team members at SkyDev, a real estate development and construction oversight company based in Guelph, volunteered to plant the mid-sized trees at Petun Conservation Area in Collingwood.
The event was facilitated in partnership with Tree Canada, a national non-profit organization dedicated to planting and nurturing trees.
SkyDev has made a commitment to replace all trees impacted at any of its development properties.
“Our tree re-planting initiative is just one part of our commitment to sustainable growth at each of our developments,” said Carrie Lamarche, Vice President, SkyDev.
“We’ve been working closely with the Municipality of Meaford and Town of Collingwood to ensure that we are developing sustainably and making the most use of green space and protecting sensitive lands adjacent to watercourses at each of these properties.”
